The center with exhibits on natural history and botany is set up with children in mind. Children of all ages will enjoy the hands-on view of nature. Mt. Bonnellat 3800 Mt. Bonnell Road to see Austin from one of the highest vantage points. It is known as a popular spot for young couples who want to watch the stars come out at night. Be careful who you climb the stairs with--you might fall in love according to the local legend.

The Rock is a huge, pink granite exfoliation dome, that rises 425 feet above ground, 1825 feet above sea level, and covers 640 acres. It is one of the largest batholiths (underground rock formation uncovered by erosion) in the United States. (325)247-3903.
LAKE LBJ STATE PARK
Has Nature Trails, Swimming Pool, Restrooms, Visitor Center that has LBJ History, Danz Log Cabin and Sauer-Beckman Living Farm. $4.00 per person admission.
PEDERNALES FALL STATE PARK
Has over 19 miles of hiking trails and a covered bird viewing station. $4.00 per person admission.
